01 Overview
This policy explains the general rules for requesting and maintaining a verified badge on Benue Talent Hub.
Verification is intended to help users distinguish profiles that have completed the platform's verification process from profiles that have not. The badge does not guarantee a person's talent, professional qualifications, honesty or the quality of their work.
02 Purpose of Verification
Verification can help build trust within the talent community by providing an additional indication that a profile has been reviewed.
Depending on the platform's review process, verification may involve checking account information, profile details, public work or supporting documents.
A badge is not an endorsement of every statement, post, product, service or transaction associated with the account. Users should continue to exercise independent judgement when interacting with others.
03 Eligibility
Users may request verification when the feature is available to their account and they satisfy the platform's applicable requirements.
- The account should contain accurate and up-to-date information.
- The applicant should control the account for which verification is requested.
- The profile should comply with the platform's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
- The applicant must be authorised to submit any supporting information or documents.
- The request must not be based on impersonation, fabricated achievements or misleading claims.
Meeting these conditions does not automatically guarantee approval. The platform may request additional information where reasonably necessary for a review.
04 Submitting a Verification Request
If verification requests are enabled, use the verification feature provided by the platform. Explain why you are requesting a badge and provide accurate information relevant to your application.
- Review your profile before submitting your request.
- Explain your identity as a talent, public work or other relevant information clearly.
- Attach supporting documents only when requested or when the form provides an appropriate upload option.
- Submit the request once and wait for the review outcome.
- Do not submit repeated requests while an existing request is awaiting review.
You should receive an indication of the request status through the features currently provided by the platform. Processing time may vary depending on the review workload and whether additional information is required.
05 Supporting Documents
The verification form may allow you to submit supporting documents. Accepted file types, size limits and other requirements are determined by the upload form and platform settings.
When providing documents:
- Use genuine documents that belong to you or that you are authorised to submit.
- Ensure the document is readable and relevant to your request.
- Do not upload forged, altered or misleading documents.
- Do not upload another person's private information without proper authorisation.
- Never upload passwords, payment-card details, bank PINs or one-time passwords.
06 Review Process
Verification requests are subject to review by an authorised administrator. Depending on the request, the review may consider profile completeness, consistency of the submitted information, supporting materials and compliance with platform rules.
A request may have a status such as:
- Pending: the request is waiting for review or a decision.
- Approved: the request has been accepted.
- Rejected: the request has not been approved.
These labels describe the intended verification workflow. The exact status displayed depends on the platform's implementation.
The platform may request clarification or additional information when necessary. Do not assume that a pending request means approval is guaranteed.
07 Approval and Badge Display
Once a request is approved, the platform may update the account's verification status and display the badge on supported profile areas.
Users should not claim to be verified before approval or modify the interface to make an unverified account appear verified.
Verification may be reviewed again if there is credible evidence of impersonation, inaccurate information, fraud or a material breach of platform rules. Any decision to remove a badge should be handled through the platform's authorised process.
08 Rejected Requests
A verification request may be rejected if the submitted information is insufficient, inconsistent, misleading or does not meet the applicable requirements.
Where a review note is provided, read it carefully before submitting another request. Correct any identified issues and ensure that your information is accurate.
A rejected request does not necessarily mean that the account itself is prohibited from using the platform. Account restrictions, if any, are handled separately under the applicable platform rules.
Reapplication may be available where the platform permits it. Do not create duplicate accounts or submit repeated requests to bypass a review decision.
09 Verification Fees
If the platform charges a fee for verification, the applicable price and payment conditions should be displayed before payment is confirmed.
- Check the amount and the purpose of the payment before proceeding.
- Use only the official payment process provided by the platform.
- Keep your transaction reference and payment confirmation.
- Payment alone does not mean a verification request has been approved.
Where verification is offered without a fee, no verification payment should be required for that option. Any applicable price, refund conditions and other terms must be consistent with the information displayed at the time of purchase and applicable law.
Do not pay an individual who promises guaranteed verification outside the platform's authorised process.
10 Badge Misuse
Users must not misuse verification indicators or falsely represent another person, business or talent.
- Do not copy or manipulate a badge to mislead other users.
- Do not claim that an account has been verified when it has not.
- Do not submit fabricated achievements or false identity information.
- Do not sell, transfer or promise a badge contrary to the platform's rules.
- Do not use a badge to impersonate a public figure, organisation or another talent.
Suspected misuse may be reported through the platform's available reporting tools. Reports may be reviewed under the Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
11 Privacy and Security
Information submitted for verification should be handled according to the platform's Privacy Policy and applicable data protection requirements.
Access to verification materials should be limited to authorised purposes. Users should submit only the information reasonably needed for their request.
Do not share verification documents through public posts or disclose another user's private documents. For questions about personal information, consult the Privacy Policy or contact support.
12 Questions and Appeals
If you believe your request was incorrectly handled, or if you need clarification about a verification decision, contact the platform through its available support channel.
Include your account username, request status and a concise explanation of the issue. Provide only the information necessary to identify and investigate the request.
Do not include your password, one-time password, payment PIN or unnecessary sensitive documents in a support message.
