01

Depending on the features you use, Benue Talent Hub may process the following categories of information:

  • Account information: username, email address, password hash, account status, and registration details.
  • Profile information: name, profile picture, biography, talent category, and other details you choose to provide.
  • User content: posts, photographs, videos, captions, comments, likes, follows, and reports.

  • Support communications: information you provide when contacting the platform about a problem or complaint.

We should collect only information that is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose and handle it in accordance with applicable law.

02

How Information Is Used

Information may be used to:

  • Create and maintain user accounts.
  • Display profiles and talent posts according to the platform's features.
  • Process likes, comments, follows, and talent support.
  • Maintain wallet balances and transaction histories.
  • Process eligible payment, conversion, and withdrawal requests.
  • Review verification requests and competition entries.
  • Send necessary account, transaction, security, and service notifications.
  • Investigate suspected fraud, abuse, unauthorised access, or violations of platform rules.
  • Respond to support requests and meet legal obligations.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the service.

Processing should have an appropriate legal basis, such as providing a requested service, meeting a legal obligation, protecting legitimate interests where permitted, or obtaining consent where required.

03

Public Profiles, Posts, and Interactions

Information you publish publicly may be visible to other users and, depending on the platform's configuration, people who are not logged in.

This may include:

  • Your public username, display name, profile image, and biography.
  • Approved talent posts, photographs, videos, and captions.
  • Comments, likes, public follows, and other visible interactions.
  • Public competition entries and achievements.

Do not publish your password, private identity documents, bank credentials, or sensitive personal details in public content. Consider carefully what you share before posting.

Removing a post from the platform may not immediately remove copies, screenshots, or information previously shared by other people.

04

Wallets, Coins, and Payment Records

If wallet and payment features are enabled, the platform may retain transaction information needed to operate the wallet, display balances, investigate disputes, and maintain accounting records.

This may include transaction references, amounts, status, timestamps, and related account identifiers.

Payments may also be processed by an external payment provider. That provider may process information under its own privacy policy and contractual obligations.

The platform should not request your payment-card PIN, banking password, or one-time banking security code through a public post or ordinary support message. Never disclose those credentials.

Financial and transaction records may need to be retained for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance even after an account is closed.

05

Verification Documents

If you request profile verification, you may be asked to submit information or supporting documents to help the review team assess your request.

Such material should be accessible only to authorised personnel and systems that need it for the review, security, or other legitimate purposes.

  • Submit only genuine documents relevant to your request.
  • Do not upload passwords, payment-card details, or unrelated sensitive information.
  • Verification information should not be displayed publicly unless a particular item is deliberately intended for public display and there is a lawful basis for doing so.
  • Documents should be retained only as long as reasonably necessary, subject to applicable legal obligations.

Before launching verification publicly, the platform operator should confirm the actual document-storage, access-control, and deletion arrangements.

06

When Information May Be Shared

Personal information should not be sold to third parties as a general practice. Information may be shared when reasonably necessary for a legitimate purpose, including:

  • Service providers: hosting, infrastructure, payment processing, email delivery, and technical support providers.
  • Other users: information you choose to make public through your profile, posts, and interactions.
  • Security and compliance: where necessary to investigate fraud, protect users, enforce lawful platform rules, or comply with legal obligations.
  • Business changes: where a lawful transfer or restructuring affects operation of the service, with appropriate safeguards.
  • With your direction: where you request or consent to a particular disclosure.

Any sharing should be limited to what is appropriate for the purpose and handled under applicable data protection requirements.

07

Cookies and Technical Information

The application may use session cookies or similar technologies to keep you logged in, protect forms, remember settings, and maintain secure navigation.

Hosting infrastructure may also generate technical logs used for diagnosing faults and protecting the service.

If analytics, advertising, or other tracking technologies are introduced, the platform should explain their use and obtain consent where required by applicable law.

Blocking essential session cookies in your browser may prevent login or other features from working correctly.

08

Data Security and Retention

Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards should be used to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

Appropriate safeguards may include:

  • Password hashing and secure session management.
  • Access restrictions for administrators and private documents.
  • Secure connections and protected server configuration.
  • Backups, monitoring, and security updates.
  • Appropriate procedures for responding to security incidents.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Users should also protect their devices and credentials.

Information should be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for its purpose, subject to legal, accounting, security, and dispute-resolution requirements. Retention periods should be defined and reviewed by the platform operator.

09

Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Subject to applicable law and relevant exceptions, you may be entitled to:

  • Request access to personal information held about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of information where deletion is legally appropriate.
  • Object to or request restriction of certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
  • Request a copy of certain information in a usable format where applicable.
  • Raise a complaint with the appropriate data protection authority.

To make a privacy request, contact the platform through its support channel. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Some records may need to be retained where the law requires it or where they are necessary to resolve a dispute or protect against fraud.

10

Children and Young Users

Users must meet the minimum age and any consent requirements imposed by applicable law and the platform's registration rules.

Where a young person's use requires parental or guardian consent, that consent must be obtained and handled as required by law.

If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact support so the matter can be reviewed and handled under applicable requirements.

11

Third-Party Services and External Links

The platform may link to external websites or rely on third-party services. Those services may have their own privacy practices, terms, and security arrangements.

Review the relevant third party's policies before submitting information directly to it. This policy does not replace the privacy policy of an independent provider.

12

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when platform features, information practices, or legal requirements change.

The revised policy will be published on this page with an updated date. Significant changes should be communicated through an appropriate notice or consent process where required by law.

Please review this page periodically to understand the privacy practices applicable to your use of the service.
